Your Dog's Day
Morning – (bright and early) one hour-long walk in one of Brentwood's beautiful country parks.
Walk includes but is not limited to:
- Recall practise (on or off-lead as appropriate)
- Hide and seek
- Playtime - fetch, ball games, squeaky toys
- 'Wild' agility – balancing, jumping, limbo-dancing, on, over and under nature's obstacles
- Zoooooooooming about as fast as we can
- Snuffling through the undergrowth
- Quiet pottering about
Home for breakfast and a rub down if necessary, followed by quiet time recovering and catching up on sleep.
Breaktime: time for the loo, checking out the back garden for new and interesting smells, quick game or learning a new skill, catching up on the local 'news' with an on-lead walk. Maybe a biscuit.
Peace and quiet to enable dogs to give their full attention to very important rest period.
Tea time!
One last walk, either local walk or quick visit to playing fields for games (subject to daylight hours).
Brushing and combing, generally checking the dog over for anything unusual or that might have hitched a ride home.
Evenings – Free Time!
Practising new skills, idling time away in the garden and around the house, snoozing in front of the telly, playing quietly with toys, having ears stroked and a cuddle before retiring to whichever bed takes their fancy.
Information
Dogs are individuals so we are happy to 'tweak' any of the above to suit your dog. For puppies under 6 months please also read our Puppy Package page.
For dogs new to our family we may require a prior meeting to ensure that the dogs are compatible.
Your dog will be separated from my own when I am not there to supervise, unless otherwise requested and I am happy that this is appropriate for the dogs. Most activities will take place with my dogs, and time when I am at home will be spent together. The dogs may be separated at feeding times, and all boarders will be kept downstairs at all times.
I am licensed to take in four toy/small breeds, otherwise only two, and they must be from the same family.
We don't give times because every day is new and exciting and different – we try to rise and shine at 6am but don't guarantee it. 7am is the latest we start our day. Bedtime is normally 10pm although usually we've all fallen asleep earlier. Weekends we try to go out for a few hours, if not the whole day; beaches are a soft spot of mine and I know where dog-friendly all-year-round beaches can be found. Due to the nature of my job there are no specific times for collection or drop off, as this has to fit around my schedule. I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
You will need to supply your dog's usual food to avoid stomach upsets, please make sure they have enough. You may also bring a bed or blanket if your dog would be happier. Toys are welcome, but I cannot guarantee they will return in the same condition. I have a variety of toys they can play with. I also need your dog's vaccination certificate to be on the premises while your dog is with me.
If you think your dog would be happy with this type of boarding, please contact me.
